11 km north of Sligo town off the N15 main Sligo to Donegal road.
The forest area is 120 hectares in size and contains mature conifer and broadleaf species. The main species are Sitka spruce and Lodgepole pine. Both exotic conifers from western north America. The property is situated below the northern face of the iconic Benbulben table top mountain and adjacent to a special area of conservation, containing unique flora and fauna.
There are two trails one of which is multi access. Because of the elevation the site offers panoramic views of Sligo and Donegal bays in addition to the local Ox and Knocknarea mountains.
