The trails are located in the Ballyhoura mountains which cover south Limerick and north Cork. The closest towns are Kilmallock, Ardpatrick and Kildorrery.
Glenanair car park is located in the forest property of Ballintlea North in the heart of the Ballyhoura uplands. It is right on the border between counties Cork and Limerick. This area is famous for its beautiful walks as there is varying topography of rolling farmland, forestry and mountain tops to choose from. The walker is spoilt for choice!
Important information for users of the Glenanair recreation area
Construction works on the Castlepook wind farm in the Ballyhouras is commencing Monday 23rd November, 2015. This work is scheduled to continue until the Autumn of 2017. In the interest of public safety a section of the Canon Sheehan walking trail has been rerouted to accommodate walkers. Please adhere to signage. Thanking you in advance for your co-operation.

How do I get there?From Kildorrery village and N73, take the R512 northwards. Continue on approx. 11.5km. Take a turnoff to the left, signposted the Ballyhoura Mountain and continue up past the mountain bikde trail centre for approximately 6km. Glenanair carpark and picnic area will be on your right.
