Woodland Loop

Trail description

This short loop begins at the trailhead at Christ the King car park.  It guides the walker around the Nature Park.  There are a number of information panels dotted along the way that cover topics such as flora and fauna and other local features and artefacts.  The species mix of the park is dominated by large mature Scot's Pine, a tree that is favoured by the red squirrel that can be spotted from time to time - if you are lucky!  A portion of the Loop also overlaps with the Ballyhoura Way, a long distance walking route that covers 80km in total and is indicated by the yellow walking man
