The trailhead for this short loop is located in the village of Lisvarrinane. It combines the quietness of secluded bohreens with the woodland experience of forest roads and trails. A large portion of the trail is on the eastern end of the hill of Slievenamuck which offers beautiful views towards the village of Galbally, the ruins of Moore abbey and the beautiful countryside beyond, not to mention the commanding presence of the Galty Mountains. The loop also overlaps with the Ballyhoura Way, a long distance way marked route that traverses through the forest.
