Mountain Access Route Cruagh

Trail description

This is an access route (waymarked white) through the forest to the open mountain.  When venturing into the hills, visitors are advised to be equipped with waterproof clothing, strong shoes, a drink and a map and compass - which they know how to use!

This mountain access route gives the hill walker access to the Cruagh Mountain, Glassnanmucky Mountain and the southern slopes of Glendoo Mountain all of which fall within Wicklow Mountains National Park.

The bog bridge at the end of the trail was constructed by Mountain Meitheal volunteers in conjunction with Coillte and the Dublin Mountains Partnership to improve the sustainability of the trail from the forest road to the open mountain.

Coillte does not guarantee access to the lands beyond its estate.
