The Blackwater Way

Trail description

The Blackwater Way, a combination of the former The Avondhu Way and The Duhallow Way, starts near Clogheen in Co. Tipperary and is approximately 188kms in length.  It meanders cross country via Kilworth Mountain.  It enters Glenabo Wood at the car park near Fermoy Town and exits the wood after a short distance of 0.6 km.   The trail continues westward running through many forest properties and close to the River Blackwater in places.  It continues past the northern sections of the Nagle Mountains, bypassing the town of Mallow and continues south west of Mallow near Bweeng Village to Muckross, Co. Kerry.
