The Red Trail again runs northward from car park and follows the eastern glen crossing and re-crossing the Glenshelane river before finally turning south along the public road for some distance before joining up with the Glenshelane River Walk through the 'Black Gate' near Lyre Bridge and the scout site. This walk is 10.7 km in distance and could be described as strenuous.
