This trail is along the southern shore of Lough Gill and offers excellent views of the lake and surrounding country side. It forms part of the Sligo Way which passes through this forest. The trail goes through both coniferous and broadleaf trees. Species of trees which can be seen include Norway spruce, Scots pine, beech and oak. This location offers a range of habitats; the animals and birds that are present include fallow deer, fox and badger with Mute swan, mallard duck on the lake.
