Starting at Trooperstown carpark the trail crosses over the Avonmore river and continues right up towards Trooperstown Hill. After a moderate climb on forest roads through an attractive Scots Pine forest the trail opens into a felling coup. Please note that this right of way is regularly driven by local residents.
Continuing uphill for approximately 1300m3 a left turn with road barrier leads back downhill through a Sitka Spruce plantation. The trail is narrow and ground underfoot can be rough in places.
Coming back out of the forest the loop meets the bridge back to carpark area.
