This trail follows the river for the first section and returns to the car park by the side of the mountain through young conifer plantations. The trail follows the river through mature coniferous woodland up to the last footbridge where it turns left up the mountain along the Slieve Bloom way. The trail also passes the largest of the waterfalls, the Clamp Hole Waterfall. The trail then turns left again along a forest road and back to the car park through young conifer plantations.
