Miner's Way & Historical Trail

Trail description

From the Car-Park on the Eastern Shore, the visitor first experiences panoramic views of the lake before encountering the cynosure of the walk in the form of the Court Tomb.  We then pass on by viewing points and promontories, to the Northern Shore with its complement of Crannógs playgrounds, local Saints Shrine and the site of Turlough O'Carolan's resting place.  This long walk will invigorate the spirit and whet the appetite for even more challenging encounters with nature in the hills and mountains.
